- The other party refuses video call, in-person viewing, or identity verification
- You are asked to pay a deposit before seeing enough proof
- The other party pushes you to pay urgently
- The listing photos look copied, inconsistent, or too perfect
- The contact person uses different names, numbers, or accounts
- The payment account name does not match the person or organization you are communicating with
Before paying or signing anything:
- Verify the property, room, landlord, agent, or student identity independently
- Ask for clear address, room details, updated photos, and viewing proof
- Do not rely only on screenshots or chat messages
- Be cautious with overseas transfers, third-party payment requests, and urgent deposit requests
- Keep records of all messages, payment proofs, names, phone numbers, and account details
